IEEE 1547-2018 lays down the criteria and requirements under which distributed energy resources (DER) are interconnected with, and interoperate with, electric power systems; it reaches every DER technology connected at the usual primary or secondary distribution voltages, with radial distribution circuits as its main emphasis. Its performance requirements take effect when the DER is interconnected and continue to apply for the whole time the DER stays in service.
