Clause 4.1 of IEEE 1547.1-2020 orders the verification phases: type tests and interoperability tests run by a type testing laboratory on one or more samples, production tests on every unit or supplemental device, a design evaluation that decides which items still need on-site verification, then installation evaluations and commissioning tests carried out on site by qualified personnel, and periodic tests as agreed between the Area EPS operator and the DER operator.
